Woolies Worth It! Bargains

I have searched the forums, and as far as I can tell, there is no existing thread on the Woolworths Worth It! Range. So perhaps you can post whether products are any good here?
I haven't bought much in the range, and I think a lot of the stuff is seasonal - for example, a little while back they were selling a decent quality (according to experts) champagne for £5. But that was limited edition.
But today I bought Mint Imperials which are delicious and only 39p. Also a six pack of vegetable seeds for 97p (six varieties of vegetables, not six seeds!), and a six pack of herb seeds for 97p. There was also a lot of gardening stuff, such as plant food and weed killer, and a 10l bag of compost for 87p.
Perhaps we can share what we think of products in the range here? I know for example that there are also a lot of electrical goods in the range, so I hope this is the correct place.

Most of this stuff is cheaper at Wilkinsons. I think Woolies will go bust soon, they don't seem to know what part of the retail world they fit into.I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another, so please feel free to ignore this.0 -

Bedding is cheaper at Woolies - I was looking for cheap white pillowcases recently to use as moses basket sheets (double duty!), and wilkos was £2.99 for a pair compared to £1.67 for the worthit! equivalent.
I needed to replace my kettle recently too and was suprised to find woolies beat wilkos again for the cheapest product -think it was £4.50 for a worthit! kettle (there was a toaster for the same price).
I was suprised to find Woolies cheaper than Wilkos on both these things and will certainly check Woolies before I buy other things elsewhere in future.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
We bought
cd-rewite,pack of about 20--absolutly useless
web-cam,
same again, useless, didnt focus properly, couldnt actually see the person at the other end ,just a blured vision.
dvd player----fantastic,would recommend this, its been great, aslo worth mentioning, you dont actually need the remote to play the cd,unlike the alba one we got from argos,we lost the remote and couldnt play in English,as we couldnt scrawl down, also most wouldnt play automatically, and as there are no buttons on the top of the machine this was deemed no use at all.The woolies one if the remote is lost, then there are skip, play, puase, buttons on the top.so this is really good for kids bedroom ect.
Craft things---all the craft range in the budget price have been fab too, crayons, pens, books, paper, ect, absolutley great for the younger kiddies, and they dont break the bank, when you have to replace them.prob wouldnt be good for older children(mine 7&3),but they good whilst you can get away with it.
Would like to know if anyone has purchased the clothing range for kids,T-shirts,ect,and give a review on those.0 -
I've bought some of the clothes for my ds. I got him a fab shirt for £1, jogging bottoms and jeans for £2 per pair and a few t-shirts. I think they do the job very well. I tend to use them for when he's at nursery as i hate paying a fortune for things to get covered in paint and glue etc. I must add though for clothes you really can;t beat sinsburys TU range-ive just got my ds 4 t-shirts for £2.25. There's 25% off at the mo too.hth.xx0

I bought 2 bedside lamps (great except the lamp shade too small for the lamp so bulb could be seen over the top. Also bought (for a friend) the floor standing lamp for £4.49. Cheapest I seen them and she said it was fantastic (even more fantastic for me, as paid for the bits with a voucher I got for phoning up for a quote for contents insurance!!!!):j Bought all my presents for this year (birthday and Christmas) now starting on next years!!:j0

I can't stand Woolies fake half price rubbish. Sometimes a price is reasonable, but they stick a sticker wildly claiming 'was £39.99 now £19.99' and you know it was never the previous price, ever. And then low and behold at the end of the season, it really is half price.
A lot of things are quite rubbishy, and I am sorry but I think the kids worth it clothing, is naf. And the one tee-shirt I purchased when dd soaked herself with water, washed so badly it went in the recycling bin. And what sweat factory, and child made it, if it costs £1 for top and £2 for jeans. You get what you pay for.
Got some good things in there actual sale.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -
