Settlement figures?

  • Can I reclaim the PPI? How do I prove it's been mis-sold?
Better still, can I claim it after I've settled the account?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be very careful with them DO NOT pay a penny untill you have that settlement figure in hand which of course means you may have to make any payments due soon.

We actually had a settlement figure form them when we had a family member offer to take out a lower rate loan to get shot of our high APR of approx 19%.

We paid the figure but they didnt clear it untill after the date which left us with more than £1000+ owing. We even assumed the debt was cleared untill we noticed the money came out the following month!

After lots of phone calls and staff contradicting themselves we demanded our payment back as the new settlement figure was a joke. (They also somehow lost the log of us even receiving the first figure off them)!

We left the money in a savings account after feeling unable to trust them with money we could'nt afford to loose. They are now one of the creditors which will be on our DMP :rotfl:. Serves them right we have had plenty of months struggle over these guys, i DO belive they make up the figures to suit them.
  • Ok...well I haven't paid a penny out to them yet. If the letter arrives tomorrow with the settlement figure...should I pay it? They're expecting a monthly payment on 10th May.
