Hi there.............I am a single parent and have a 15 year old son and have been getting CSA payments for my son for the last 2 years( been away from his father since 1997)
Anyhow it is deducted from ex weekly by a deductions of earnings order, however since the beginning I have never received this money monthly! I always have to ring the CSA every 8 weeks to prompt them to call the exs employer to find out where it is......so this then adds another 4 weeks onto the wait, so effectively I get payments about every 11 or 12 weeks.
Ok this is good in that I do get it, but I feel really annoyed that I do not get regular monthly payments that have been instructed from CSA. I get annoyed that I have to chase up the CSA to get them to chase up the employer...........and then wait a few more weeks being fobbed off about where the cash is!
If the employer is deducting it...............Can anyone tell me what should legally happen??? It is becoming a bit tedious as it is costing me money all the time in countless phone calls to the CSA to find out where it is!!
I would appreciate any input about this situation

Have you put an official complaint in about this?
It may be that the employer is at fault rather than the CSA and if that is the case then the CSA should be pointing out to employer that they have a duty to deduct money and send it to CSA.0 -
Maybe a long shot (which you may be able to discount immediately based on what your ex does) - but I know some of the senior people where I work aren't paid monthly (very strange IMHO) - could it be that he is paid say quarterly and the deo matches this frequency?
I know you said it is deducted "weekly" but aren't all assessments based on £/week, I know mine is but I pay via standing order monthly?

Good god...how do these people manage getting paid quarterly?!!! Imagine having to stretch your money for 3 months?!!! I think I am doing well if I have a fiver left the week before payday!!!!

Well they are "global do-dahs in charge of watsit" type level so they are typically earning more than 2-3 x the average wage so can probably afford it. Like I said, I don't know if such is likely to apply to OP's ex but thought it was worth throwing it in as a suggestion (as I think that one of the provisios is that a DeO matches salary payment frequency)

My OH used to pay by DEO. He got paid every week so the amount was deducted from his wages every week, then his employer sent it to the CSA every month. It's possibly the employer paying late rather than the NRP. Does he usually pay on time?Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked

Hi All, thanks for the input!!!
My ex partner is paid weekly, I was told this by the CSA. The employer should be sending it in for the 19th of every month! The employer DOES not do this!!! This has been going on since day 1. I just get fed up after about 8 weeks and then ring the CSA.............then they faff about trying to contact the employer. So the 12 week thing is simply the time scale it amounts to after I have rung them! If I didn't ring for a year it would probably not be sent until I had rung!!!!
It is the employer at fault as they are holding onto cash that should be sent to me!
I just wanted to know if anyone knew of anything i could do with regard to this???
I get fed up prompting the CSA to chase up the payments.0 -
You should ask the CSA to refer the case to their compliance inspectors who can make a visit to the employer to remind them of their responsibilities - failure to comply can result in a fine so they may wish to stick to the rules in future! A visit may be all it takes.0
