Cheaper Apple Laptops/Computers/et al

So you're ready to ditch Microsoft? :D Even if you are not a student, read this!!!

Apple have an Apple Store for Education. Essentially, if you're in some sort of education, you will get a discount (if you're not, keep reading!). It is something in the region of not having to pay the VAT.

You can also combine an Apple computer/laptop with an iPod and you get £100 cashback - so you get an iPod mini for about £30. Which can be a very useful sweetner for the OH when you're trying to justify a new computer! :D This offer is on at the moment but does go on and off so you should discuss it with the person you order from.

is the link but you will need to call the number (0800 039 1010) if you are not in higher education. (click on apple store for education, left hand side towards bottom)

Now, the de minimis level of education is very low, it seems. Provided that you are on some sort of course, you should be able to get the discount. There are lots of free courses on the internet that you can register for and provided you pick something sensible, they will give you the discount. Also, if you're doing that weaving evening class, that will suffice. So, you can stick 'free courses' into google (other search engines are available) and just sign up to something and save hundreds of pounds!

have fun!

PS I happen to be on a course! :D

They do have some great offers at the moment. Just got my wife an iBook and a pink iPod mini for £643 (when the cashback arrives), with the higher education discount. Very impressed with both items, and they arrived within 48 hours. Just need to find a good offer on a Mac Mini for myself now! :D
