OMG! Only got about 2 hours sleep last night. Don't know if I'll make it to the nght owls thread tonight. May fall asleep at my desk long before that.

  • Mupeteer (why only one p?).sent you a PM. I did fall asleep at my desk on Saturday after the Friday night marathon, luckily I was the only person there - I did that thing where you snore and wake yourself up just before your head hits the desk.

Smashed, you too, and everyone else: thanks for the welcome.

Kika: If Danny needs a stand in for the next Bond film I'll be happy to oblige in either role. I nearly learned to play the saxophone once - circular breathing's always a good trick to have up your sleeve.

I'm just going on the main site then off to the HMCS site, fee in hand, to connect my boot with the withered tehesticules of an organisation that sounds like a form of self abuse smeared in excrement. Wish me luck.

Argos wrote (which was nice of them, it's been 3 months) saying they have no record of any charges on my card. I'm going to write back saying I have no record of any purchases on my card so we're quits then.

    Missing you already

Only one 'p' because I'm a muppet who didn't check her spelling before hitting enter when I set up my ID!

And to think poor spelling and punctuation wind me up no end. Guess it serves me right for being so anal! Now I'm stuck being a Mupet rather than a Muppet. Life is hard sometimes.:rotfl: :rotfl:

That's the weird thing, because it is stream of conciousness writing, therefore, we are writing as we would speak..so it becomes harder to punctuate!

I usually find there are quite a few who like to be anal about it, usually on the mortgage board and in the discussion board linked to The Arms..quite funny reads as well....as they usually get it wrong too:cool:

So it's best just to type and not get bothered about it..plus the spellchecker seems to be an American one.:rotfl:

And no one minds, i don't:rolleyes: as i can go back and self correct until i am blue in the face! but i ain't writing an essay...just talking to good folk:T :T

    Besides isn't Mupet a French version?:rotfl:

Surely you can change it. You're not anal, you're just a member of an exclusive club. Learning your own native language is something that tends to be frowned on in this country. I'm studying linguistics at present, and reading quite a lot (not directly related) by an American sociology professor called Neil Postman. I seriously think that (their idiot president aside) the American's have a far greater respect for the English language than we do.  ;):p
Just spent £70.00 at HMCS money claim online. That feels good :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j . When those 70 come home they'll bring 1100 friends with them (be positive, it can't fail) and Citibank will be just a sordid memory. Might have a Guinness to celebrate. Ah, only Murphy's in the fridge, still, he won't mind.

I don't think it is possible to change it but I think I can cope with the french version - seems a little more mysterious and interesting, don't you think?

    What's HMCS?

  • !!!! !!!! !!!! !!!ity !!!! I was going to say the American's respect for English is greater than ours, then I changed it and left the apostrophe in. I really do have a BA (Hons) Lit, (didn't even buy it on eBay) but I can't type, have no memory, and don't pay attention.
