they say i owe them money

the department of works and pensions, have sent aletter to my my partner saying she owes £349 from 10 years ago,she says she cant remember owing this from so long ago, and feels its been to long for them to contact her what should she do?

I didn't think people could chase debts over 6 years old i think you should post this on a different board for better answers though, it's one further up but i can't remember the name :rolleyes:

^statute of limitations, dont think it applies to taxes or may be different because its a public body

seems a bit unfair to ask after so long, if they are allowed to ask, offer to pay, weekly, over the next ten years.
