I'm trying to make a madeira cake for my birthday this weekend. I have a recipe which is for a 8" cake tin but does say it's for a deep 8" tin. The tin I have is 9" and I was hoping to find out the quanities for that sized tin.

That should be fine. it won't be so deep so it would be up to you once you've made one if you want to bake another to make up the height. But recipe wise there shouldn't be a problem. hth0

google actually helped me shortly after my post anyway :rolleyes: found a 9" recipe which had very slightly more of everything and one more egg so went for it
