Full And Final Settlement Query?

I had requested a full and final setellement from MBNA for a £3k credit card.

They sent a letter saying:

Further to our recent communication, I can confirm that a payment of £1500 will be accepted in settlement of the above account.

Once payment is received and cleared onto the account, MBNA will register a partal settlement with licensed credit reference agencies and a default will remain registered. However you will not have to repay MBNA the remaining balance.

Now 2 things, I wanted a full and final settlement, but spoke to him and said they can not do that unless 95% or more of the balance is paid, and secondly I wanted the default removed, they said they can not do that but it will show as settled on credit file.

Any advice appreciated?
