Buy now Pay Later
I purchased a Lap top back in 2004 from Dixons on a buy now pay later scheme. Unfortunately at the time when payment was due after a year I didn't have the money and interest was added on top at an alarming rate.
Last year in early 2007 I paid the finance company £1000. The Laptop was only £700 so they'd been paid plus more. When I paid them over the phone by debit card I was lead to believe this would halt any further proceedings and close the account. Now they're still after me and say I owe them £1276.
So in all all I would have paid them £2276 for a laptop which originally cost £700. With the recent court case regarding unlawful charges ensuing where would I stand with this case? At the moment the finance compnay sent me a letter saying they will sell my house in order to reclaim the £1276.
This is madness. Please advise.
