Year by year list of things that happened

Hi

I am thinking of doing a book for my partner who is 30 next year with a page for each year of his life with photos of himself plus things that happened in each year. I have had a look on the net but all i can find is lists of mostly political things, I would rather have tv shows that started, films that came out, toys out at the time (for early years) that kind of thing. The latest fashions and music etc, know what I mean?

Any one know of any good sites I can have a look at or can remember certain things for any of the years that I can look up.

My friend is 40 this year and im doing her a scrapbook, ideas that i am putting into her book are, how much things cost and what films, music, news, sweets, were out when she was born. Ive been trying to think of other things so i will be looking at the thread for more inspiration. Ive already found out what toy was top in her year so thanks for that.

Rainmac ... Thanks for those sites I am going to have a look now.

Minimacka ... I have found the song which was number 1 in August 1979 and bought it on ebay (Cliff Richards), I thought I would do a big box with 30 presents in it, have already started collecting bits and pieces, this book will be one of the presents. Have got a few other bits from 1979 and got a couple of ideas for a few more (mainly from this forum).

    Hi Everyone,

I'd include his favourite cartoons - I love this site: http://www.80scartoons.co.uk/

    So many great shows!

I have been racking my brains desperately trying to think of something to buy my partner for his birthday. he is so hard to buy for, says he doesnt 'want' anything and although i know he is right, i want to get him something.

this is an absolutely fabulous idea!!!!!!!!

i think he will really love this if i can make a good job of it, im useless with arty stuff, usually end up gluing myself to something!!

i have subscribed to this thread, although i dont know if i will ever find it again when i come to look for it!

    thank you so much!! :D

ps sorry i dont know all the abbreviations etc, find it just as easy to type it out long hand!
