Has anyone else who got the 2 free Mills & Boon books via quidco been sent a box of books and an invoice that implies you've subscribed to their service?

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

*UPDATE*
Right,
spoken to customer services, lady was very nice.
Apparently I should have contacted them to say I didn't want these books and I've to take out the free gift ( a knife, a fork and a spoon strangely enough!) which is mine and just send the books back to them at Croydon

Yes this is very dodgy. When I ordered the two free books they came with a letter saying this:
"Your future parcels will contain the following:
4 brand new modern books handpicked by our editors.
Priced at only £2.99 each
Delivered direct to your door- no P&P charges"
I was worried so I went to the website, managed to find a contact email address and emailed to say I was no longer interested in being and M&B member. Got a quick reply saying that my membership had been cancelled. I would advise that you return the parcels and send them an email saying you don't want to be a member any more.0 -
I got a box of books (all to do with fathering and parenting... oddly
).
If you look at the offer when you signed up it said they would send you a "free gift" as well... I got a pack of cutlery too. But I was told that I'd be recieving another free gift. I'm guessing this is it.0 -
Ah thats not so bad at least they were nice about it. Wonder if the quidco transaction will still validate.0

You're sure the box of books wasn't invoiced at £2.99 per book?0 -
I never saw an invoice but I'm putting that down to me just being distracted "Oooh, free stuff :T!" (I am a student, after all!) I have contacted Mills and Boon and asked to unsubscribe etc. and I hope I can still do that. I just guessed that the free gift was these books. The back of my first box said I would be receiving a free gift and a set of cutlery to test, incase I wanted the full dinner service.
Thank you to the OP for opening my eyes... apparently there is no such thing as a free lunch...0 -
I noticed the letter and filled in the "contact" bit on the website saying that I didn't want to subscribe. I haven't received any more yet but I haven't received confirmation that I've cancelled either, hmmm0

I know it's my fault totally for not reading the stuff properly but at least the customer services lady was really helpful and pleasant so hey ho!

Yes, my daughter. She did unsubscribe after receiving the 2 free books but still received the next parcel of books.
Smacks of inertia selling if you ask me.
She complained by email and asked for the unsolicited books to be collected pdq.
She received an apology and was told to keep the books. :T
Suggest you all do the same :rotfl:0
