A while ago i took advantage of the free offer Experian credit reference agency had to view my credit rating. Though i've cancelled the subscription, i still get emails from them. Now, as i mentioned on another thread i was looking into transferring a credit card debti hae onto a loan as i am currently only able to make the minimum payments. The concencus on that thread was that it was best to start by asking egg themselves to convert the balance to a loan, a few days ago i got an email from experian which appeared to be an offer to compare and contrast different available loans, with options available for people with less than perfect credit scores.
Now i though it might be an idea to get some suggestions for alternative loans that i might be eligible for, and what sort of interest rates i would have to pay, so i clicked on the link and answered a few simple questions, expecting to get a list of suggested providers and rates, instead i got a message saying that a 'representative' would contact me.
Since then i've been innundated, at least 30 cqalls in two days all day until late in he evening, offering me debt consolidation, IVAs etc.
I am not very happy about this. Aside from the invasion of my privacy, experian are clearly giving the details of people who may well be in a vunerable postion to compaines who want to exploit their misfortune further.
