Fingers crossed
Once you've received that then, assuming no ccj's, send the CCA letter off!:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
It should show up any CCJs in the last 6 years, and given your age, you should not have any prior to that.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

This is my first post so sorry it's long but to PIXSY 1983 and anyone else in the same situation following all the great and sound advice you have received i really think you should ring the National debt line and talk to them they will help you soooooo much!! I know i received a letter from one agency i made the mistake of ringing as i thought that someone had taken my identity so i rang them as i KNEW i had no debt to anyone they said it could be a mistake and they might have the wrong person what's my date of birth.... i know:embarasse i gave it !!! so then that debt suddenly became mine. I rang national debt and told my tale only to be told that they do this all the time then they gave me a letter that i'm to send to them via recorded delivery every day they rang ( i was warned that they would and was told to tell them to communicate with me via mail) so i would'nt talk to them... since then they have sent me a letter saying they are going to send someone round to collect payment National debt said let them then call the police for trespassing and asking for money !!!:rotfl:then they sent me a solicitors letter with their phone no one it  saying they will take me to court :rotfl:the National debt line has helped me with these bullies as that's what they are they collect old invalid debts and send letters to everyone with the same name waiting for you to phone etc then they start!!! their campaign... they claim that its an old debt but if your willing to pay the old invalid debt to them then they will take your money...( Which is not against the law.. as you are paying them... If that debt was mine i'd rather give the money to my favourite charity who are more worthy then theses leeches). To date not only have i received letters from these company's my neighbour has.... they rang her at work as they found her name on a company news letter !!! for non payment on a car in 2000
she can't drive!!! so dont do anything talk to people who can help ring the national debt line talk to those in the know.... As for your dad tell him that it's a case of mistaken identity and that you've taken action by talking to ND and tell him what they advise you can omit that it's your debt.... As a parent i would be proud if my child told me that they are experiencing this and are dealing with it in a mature manner in a few years you can then admit it was yours and say how you dealt with it
wins to date..................none!! nadda... zilch... nothing not a blinking thing AT ALL .. Oh well... may be one day .:o

Right, i have now recieived a letter back from the Debt Collection Company saying they have requested the credit agreement from the original creditor. So i guess it's just a waiting game.0

Hi
That means that they do not have the signed CCA themselves. Unless they are just collecting rather than having bought the debt, they should not be chasing you for a debt for which they do not have documentation.
What date did they receive the letter? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I'm looking forward to how this one turns out, fingers crossed for you.
I get occasional letters from lowell and red saying I owe them money from a Barcalys account / credit card.
I havn't had a barclays account in over 7 years.
I just ignore them, I get the occasional letter saying as a gesture of good will they will half the debt. Again I just ignore them. I havnt had a letter for over a month now. Some letters come acorss as quite frighting and I can easy see how some people panick and pay up.
The debt is not on my credit report. I have never called them or responded to their letters so they dont even know I reside at this address.
I get the occasional 'we have reason to believe that Mr ...... ...... lives here. If we dont hear from you we will assume this to be true.
If I get any more letters I'm going to send them the letter that was posted on the previous page.
Thankyou.0 -
soso
No.
If you have not had a Barclays account in 7 years or more, your debt is statute barred, unless there is a CCJ outstanding. Even then, they would need court permission to pursue you.
You need to send a statute barred letter not the CCA letter on the first page.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Ah,
But, isnt sending a letter saying the debt is statute barred admitting to the debt, or dosnt that matter?0 -
Make sure that anything you send has
"I do not acknowledge any debt to your company", preferably at the beginning.
Otherwise, we could not even send the CCA request letter. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
