Looking here: http://www.usr-emea.com/support/s-prod-template.asp?loc=unkg∏=2249,, there is an upgrade to 54mbp/s. Surely it makes sense to buy 2 of these and use them in bridging mode at 54Mb/s? I'm assuming that you wouldn't be able to get this performance if you have another vendor's product, but has anyone tested this?0

Thats possible although im not 100% on it. Personally I'd go for some cheap 802.11g equipment, or wait till Belkin release their pre-802.11n equipment.0 -
"Cheap" 802.11g access points are difficult to find - the cheapest on EBuyer is a Belkin at £35 + VAT + delivery each.
The "Pre-N" devices will not be cheap but I would expect 802.11g prices to drop considerably once 802.11n has become established in a few months time.
The USR access point is based on older technology but you can do a lot with it - in addition to bridging and as a repeater, you can also use it as a wireless client for an XBox or Playstation2 etc if you have an existing wireless network.
Thanks

You can cable this access point to a console and use it as a wireless bridge? If so, I'm sold.
Reckon there'll be any problems integrating into my 54g wireless network using a Belkin wireless router?0 -

If the Belkin is setup to allow both 802.11b and 802.11g devices on the network, then it will work in client mode for a games console.
I don't think client mode works properly using WPA-PSK but WEP or unencrypted work fine.
Thanks
