Luckily for me, I live on the edge of the Peak District, so there is plenty of outdoor space. But I want to live the dream with my (future) dog, who obviously won't fit in my flat, ahem sorry I meant appartment.

One of the other major drawbacks with an 'apartment' is of course that you never have any room to expand. No added conservatory etc. I always feel that because you do not own the ground (other people live above and below you), it is not really yours. Is that strange? Plus of course no room for the trampoline (for me)! :p

Edited to add: After all most home purchases are emotional decisions at the end of the day, no matter how we like to think they are not!

I know this isn't MSE doctrine, but we have a 2 year old son, and like living in a flat!

Does your 2 year old like living in the flat. I live a 10 minute walk from the beach its the best place to live. I did live in London for 8 years, but I was young and having fun, not prepaired to do all that city living now.

Our flat isn't really ours anyway, because we are renting (have lived here for 10.5 years, and it's our home, though).

Actually, I do have a mini-trampoline, it lives behind the sofa!

If money was no object, I'd quite like one of these 2 places, each has a bit of outdoor space, but each is slightly out of our budget.

He seems to like it. We have a children's-only park 5 minutes away, with swings / toys / animals / sandpits etc. He also has an adoring fan-base among all the shopkeepers around here, who love him!

I have nothing against flats, and I wouldn't mind living in one (I live in a city). However I think my 10 stone dog might disagree with that!

We are lucky though, as unlike London it is easy to get houses with gardens round here even very close to the city centre for a reasonable price.

Neverdespairgirl I like those places you put a rightmove link to! I could by my place 37 times over though for that price!

They are rather nice, but unfortunately, just slightly over budget for us :rotfl:
