HI THERE MONEYSAVERS,
I am eagerly awaiting the starting date of my new job, i will be training to be a Chartered Accountant. As i am still a young lad i am somewhat limited financially as to the amount i can spend on a suit. I would however like a nice tailored suit, but these can cost many £1000s.
Can anyone tell me where i can get a nicely tailored suit, inexpensively, maybe from far east, i don't no, any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks to all!

Yes you can get cheap tailored suits in places like Bangkok and Hong Kong, however you have to pay for the plane ticket there in the first place. Also, I've heard from a few people who went for the cheaper end of things (you can get tailored suits for as little as £50...) and were pretty disappointed with the finished product, ie the fabric and finishing etc. Unless you already happen to be going on a holiday to one of these places, I would leave it and buy an off-the-peg suit from Burtons or somewhere for £100-£150. And you can get them even cheaper than that. I would wait for the tailoring til your salary allows it!!0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. You could try Slaters. They have many different brands and cuts that you'll be able to find a couple that fit well. They also do free alterations so the jackets and trousers fit perfectly. Failing that go to Burtons as they have the best suits for the cheapest price. You can then take them to a tailors for slight alterations. Moss is also pretty good and their staff are quite knowledgeable. What I would do is wait until the sales start again to stock up on suits as they are expensive.
I've had a couple of suits made in Hong Kong which fit perfectly. The better fabrics and workmanship cost at least £120. It was part of my trip so I didn't have to factor the flight costs into it. If you're out there then they can make one up in 24 hours.0 -

I am going to be getting a suit for my wedding next year from there. They are a good price and from the reviews they are good quality.
I suggested this place to a guy at work and he got one for his wedding this year. Got delivered the other day and he is very happy with it. fits perfectly. Well worth the money he said.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
I am sure there was a post last year re a visiting tailor from Hong Kong. If I remember correctly you have a measuring appointment, choose fabric and suit is delivered two weeks afterwards. I am sure if you search you will find the thread.SallyD0
