  • I have been saving air miles for a while. I can't remember how much I have. The thing is all the deals seem to be really pants, and you'd end up buying cheaper if you did it yourself. What do people think about Airmiles?
    Moneysaving since 2004!
  • My logic is that bills have to be paid, so you might as well try and get something back in return.

Cashback would only be a few pounds based on my spending, which would just be spent on lunch or everyday things.

By saving AirMiles I hope to one day have enough for a really enjoyable holiday. Currently I have enough for a week in Barbados, including flights and a 4 star hotel. Not bad since all I've done to get the miles is buy my shopping from Tesco as normal, and pay everything I can on credit card.
  • Iv'e found the same thing-think the deals are really rubbish. Have stopped transfering automatically from Tesco. Took the family for a week in Paris and paid for it totally in air miles, that was a good deal but I did ask when booking for a search of only hotels showing deals and offers. Took much longer but we did get 2 or 3 nights free. Hope to use the rest up when the sale is on in Jan. Wanted to use them for America but they seem to be a waste of space when you can't pay in full in miles.I would have been virtually throwing them away with a BA flight to Seattle!
  • Yes I've noticed that by the time you pay the taxes and surcharges you don't really save that much compared to a cheap flight. Perhaps it is time to stock up the cellar
    TANSTAAFL !
  • I currently have 800 Air Miles,

What is the best/cheapest way of collecting 100miles in order to order my case of wine ?

    Many Thanks
  • I can't see a link for this on the airmiles site?
Well I can see an offer for 100 airmiles and you get a 12.99 reduction, but not the 900 miles one?
I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
  • I was just thinking at the rate of 900 miles and tesco giving you 60 miles for £2.50 clubcard vouchers, that approximates £37.50's worth of clubcard points a case.
Given that Tesco's own deal is £20.00 in CCard vouchers for a case of wine, the airmiles deal is maybe not so good.
I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I am going to bid on ebay to see if I can get my 100 air miles, I just hope the wine promotion is still running when I have the required number for the 12 bottle case

PS Does anyone know where the ebay sellers get their air miles from ?
