I was just thinking of a funny thing that happened to us using freecycle and I wondered if anybody else had any.
We got new decking built in our garden and I thought I'd post a "wanted" ad for some planters. I got an e-mail from an old lady asking me to phone so I did and she said she had some lovely planters I could have so I arranged to pick them up the next day stopping off at a shop for a box of roses (as a thank you) on the way there. Well when I got there she took me into her garden and showed me these "planters" which were so bad I thought oh no hubby is gonna kill me for dragging him out to get them LOL! I said I'd get hubby to drive to the back gate to put them in the car and I have to say we contemplated just doing a runner but we couldn't because we felt so guilty. We laughed all the way home (via the local tip) because what we had done was remove her old rubbish and given her chocolates for the pleasure LMAO!
By the way I'm not ungrateful these were not even planters, I don't know what they were but I wish I had taken a picture and everything I have given away has been really good stuff we just didn't have room for any more.
Please tell me its not just us that things like this happen to, and what did or would you do in this situation?
