AA Breakdown Cover - more than 25% discount

I have just renewed my AA breakdown cover and got over 25% discount. I have standard breakdown and relay. The undiscounted price is £96 they were quoting me £81.60 much too high so I phoned them and they offered me 25% discount which brought it down to £72. I then said I can get the same cover from the RAC solutions 1 for £69 and they matched it. So try being cheeky and get as much as you can back from them.:T

  • Well done, thats a good discount. My friend operates a website and managed to get me the AA UK Breakdown cover for £29 and my friend then gave me a £10 Gift Voucher for using his link.

    Well done,

we've been with The AA since 1999 and its steadily gone up, this year they want £176 for the years cover,
I phoned them and told them thats way too much and they couldnt help us, so im going to wait for it to run out at the end of May and take out a new membership in June, online quote £104.00 exactly the same as what we're on now relay home start etc.
Ive told them what im going to do and theyve said thats fine :)

I had an good deal from AA this year! Paid around £62 last year (new member) for roadside and home start. Quoted me £90 for renewal, I phoned them and told them I wanted to cancel as I found the same service from Green Flag cheaper. AA asked me the price they quoted me, I can't remember how much it was, but they said I could have the cover for £45 for a year
  • Yep. this weekend called AA. Said " your new quote is too high I can get it cheaper elsewhere",without hesitation the reply was" we will match the competors price." Got £50 knocked off.:j

Or switch to competition and use quidco (or something similar).
My AA roadside is expiring, got it for £33 last year, quoted £50 on the renewal letter, and was offered £33 when I called. But I can get RAC for c. £30-32 as well, and £20 quidco to boot :)
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Can agree with you there le_eswiss
Roadside assistance from RAC via the website works out at £33, go through Quidco for £21 cashback, meaning it's only going to cost you £12, which is £1 a month :D
  • There definitely seems to be some cracking deals around when your looking hard enough for breakdown cover, and let's face it we all need it because you never know when that moment will come when your stranded on some motorway in the pouring rain. Personally I travel long distances and upon my breakdown cover renewal I found that http://www.ecomparison.co.uk/greenflag/ - Green Flag were coming up with some good deals too but I don't really know anyone who uses them so is it worth giving them a try?.
