Giordano wines offer

http://www.giordanowines.co.uk/landing/8WUK8/index.php

Just got this on email, I've used them before and can vouch for the wine and the food.

Its not the cheapest deal (and certainly not the most expensive), but the added bonus cookware this time seems to make it a great idea.

8 Reds
4 Whites
6 Authentic Italian Foods
9 Piece Italian style cook and serve dishes incl. matching olive oil and balsamic vinegar set
2 Bonus bottles of wine

all for

£64.50 + £5.95 p&p

edit:

1. That is not an affiliate link btw, just the link I got in the email.
2. There are other cheaper offers if you don't want the crockery.

I used to purchase wine from Giordano on a regular basis until last year when my order was mixed up. They took payment from my credit card company and then three weeks later, when the order was shipped, took a second payment. After several telephone calls to Giordano (very difficult to understand and costly), and to my Credit Card company, the second charge was refunded from the Credit Card Company.

Since this miux up I have received offers and telephone calls on a regular basis, both stating that I am one of their best customers:confused:

I have today received a letter from a Debt Collecting agency asking for the second payment that was refunded:mad: I will obviously never purchase wine from them again, which is a shame as I love Italian Wine:beer:

  • Yes, a company with no idea what customer service is.

Try customer.complaints@giordanowines.co.uk and they give you a problem ticket number. Then after not responding further for days, when you call them on the only listed UK number, they say they do not know the ticket system, so you can only be identified by name. Then the same lady gives you three different and incompatible excuses for their delivery being over 6 weeks late, without realising it. When you ask for a supervisor, apparently they don't have any and when you ask for complaints, they simply hang up.

How can they claim to be ISO9001 "Quality Certified Company" on their web site, when processes clearly fail. Would be good to know if there is a way from ISO9001 assessment it is possible to establish who their auditor is and then a real customer contact in Giordano that wants to get things fixed, or lose accreditation.
  • I took up the recent offer of 12 bottles of wine plus goodies plus oven-to-table ware and I have to say I've been very impressed. I ordered on 23/8 and was advised that delivery would take 10-28 days. It was delivered yesterday (6/9) exactly 10 days after ordering.

Everything in the box looks scrummy and I can't wait to try it all, so far so good for me :D

  • Was with Giordiano for a couple of years and ordered quite a few things from them. Only ever had one problem with a couple of bottles of 'off' wine - one phone call and they sent replacements within a week. So for me they were fine but things change!

I have just received my third Food & Wine box from Giordano, I first made a purchase from them over ten years ago.
The wines were/are very nice. The offer comes with food and cook/kitchenware.

My first case was by far the best as it came with many different foods and great kitchen extras (one item being 4 very small terracotta bowls with and enamel lining, still in use today). I purchased another offer several years ago (while still a brilliant offer, the amount of food included and cookware was not as impressive as the first one, I guess they have adjust the contents to keep prices attractive).

I have just received my third box (took about three weeks to arrive from ordering) which contains the same cookware as one previously ordered for a Christmas gift.

This set includes 12 bottles of wine, 6 food items and a 6 piece cookware set for £49.95 (p&P free). That is £4.16 per bottle or if you deduct the just over £15 of food the wine works out to about £2.90 a bottle plus the free oven to table cookware thrown in.
