Getting Married - Credit Rating

Does getting married have any effect on your credit rating? I've recently got married and noticed that since informing car and house insurance of our marriage that our premiums have gone down.

Does getting married have any effect on your credit rating in this way?

Getting married doesn't effect your credit rating much. If anything it may improve it slightly as married couples are seen to be more 'secure' and hence less of a risk to creditors... BUT.. on the other hand if you plan on having joint finances that WILL effect your credit rating as creditors will look at both of your credit files to decide whether you're a risk. So if either of you has a poor rating the other person will be negatively effected.
