Tiscali Broadband Good gesture

Hi I have just recieved an interesting email from tiscali. I recently moved address and have transfered my tiscali phone&broadband to new address but I was constantly getting slow speeds i complained constantly and said that i was looking for another service due to slow connection heres what i got back.

Now that great news i think and they have managed to get my speed back to what i use to get.
P.S I have free all time calls and unlimited broadband for 14.99 which i picked up while just surfing on their site one day. I am absolutely satisfied with this.

Has this deal changed recently? My Dad has just moved to Tiscali and is going on the £14.99 a month deal but only gets free weekend calls. The free all time calls package is £19.99 a month.

Yes Shelly this was a promotional offer offered last year i just was cruising the web and saw this offer going for 15 days only so i did my calculations on current internet, phone package and found that i could save 80 pounds, so I was very happy, your father has gone with whats currenty available. My deal is not a bad deal i must admit.

Consdier yourself luck to get anything from this lot.
I moved house last year and notified them through their moving adress section, i received an automated reply to advise they ahd receive my details and my broadband would be avilable on the day i moved into my new house. 8 weeks it took for me to get broadband.
The reason
Their moving home section took all the details but didnt actually pass them on anywhere. Upon probing them it turned out they were aware of the problem with this part of their site and it had been this way for several months. Why thet hadnt removed it or changed the wording to reflect this on the automated email is anyones guess.
After many phone calls, many of which were disconnected when transfering between departments, another problem they had taht they were aware of with their telephone system and 2 letters, i never even got an apology let alone a gesture of goodwill.
Now in the last few months my connection speed was unknowingly increased, i pay for 1MB and was getting 4MB however it kept dropping and speeds dipping. I called them several times to be told theirs nothing wrong. As soon as i advised them of my high speeds, they said my line could only handle 3.5MB maximum and they put me back to 1MB and from that second i have had no further problems. Although i have called them 4 times to ask for my connection speed to be set at 2MB or 3MB as i had efectivley downgraded from 4MB due to connection problems and they deny i have ever received a speed faster than 1MB despite me having speed check logs clearly showing my faster speeds on 8 seperate days. At the start of my problems i also emaild them and it took 6 weeks for them to reply.
Sorry for the rant but felt everyone needed to know that its pot luck what you get from this company.0 -
