Ok, I'm wondering if someone can help me with this. I have posted before about this but could really use some help again
I've got an outstanding debt with Lloyds TSB for £990.83. It used to be an overdraft that for various(legit) reasons, I didnt pay at the time, and in January last year, Lloyds called in the overdraft. They've now passed the debt to Allied International Credit.
I have a letter sitting here from Allied, saying this:
We have received no response to our previous request for payment on the above debt having previously issued you with written notice for payment, attempted telephone communication where applicable and issued you with an out of court reduced settlement (they havent done this)
In a final attempt for the benefit of the courts to show that we are endeavouring to come to an amicable agreement on behalf of our client, we are prepared to accept 36x £27.52 commencing on 30th April 2008.
They also enclosed a standing order mandate with the letter, and requested that the first payment was sent to them with the filled in mandate. The letter was sent on the 11th, and it said I had 7 days to get in touch with them
However, I cant afford this amount each month, and I rang them to tell them this, but they never got back to me. I am prepared to make a payment offer of £15 a month though
Im getting worried that they are going to take me to court over this, even though I've tried getting in touch with them, so is there anything I can do about this, bearing in mind its been over 7 days since theey sent me the letter.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Hello Amy
Why have you not wrote to them, making your offer?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
hi
i would just write to them with your offer, i never find these people very helpful when you telephone them, explain why you can't meet what they are asking for and give them a copy of your expenditure to prove it. if you find they are saying they have sent you things that they have not or are being very unreasonable get in touch with the complaints dept as well as i never get much out of lloyds unless its through the complaints people they have a problem with responding to you until complaints get involved
dont panic too much as even if they do take you to court-the court will see you dont have the cash and you will be able to pay what you-or the court decided reasonable.
in the meantime regardless of how much they have accepted or not accepted of a offer go and pay some off asap as it shows that you are not just avoiding paying.goal for 2014....i will manage money better ..must resist shopping..............:A0 -

It's used to be great when they called asking you to confirm your security details.
Before answering them, I used to ask them what their credit licence number was, when they couldn't supply it (as most call agents don't have a ckue) how can they expect me to disclose my personal details, end of call :rotfl: :rotfl:Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
