AVC Opinion

In a previous post I made a request for pension fund information which was obviously too specific, as nobody replied.
Since then I contacted a pension advisor I knew many years ago, but 7 weeks after completing the questionaire, I’m no further on and I want to start the ball rolling again
Could I have someone’s opinion on the following please -
In a general way, what sort of AVC funds should someone who is within 3 years of retirement be looking at? E.g. Cash?, Fixed Interest/Gilts?, Index Linked?, Discretionary?.
Thank you.

With Profits Fund, plus Discretionary Fund, plus International Fund - Prudential. I also have a choice of 10 L&G funds.
If it makes any difference, upon retirement I intend taking all of it as a tax free lump sum as it will be less than 25% of my total pension fund.0 -
You need to list what the fund options are for your AVC. My AVC (actually APC) has a Pre-retirement Fund option which is geared for those retiring within 7 years which has a balanced risk. Cash Fund is probably the lowest risk/gain and other Funds subject to volatile situations such as is now.0
