Sim Free Mobiles unable to browse home

More and more customer are purchasing SIM FREE mobile phones yet are being restricted to surf there providers home network i.e. vodafone live / planet 3 etc. Why are loyal paying customers not given this option - THIS IS A CASE FOR MARTIN
