Harveys Sofa - refund advice

hi,..

after almost 9 months waiting for a corner suite order to be completed correctly from harveys.. after 3 deliveries(nov07, feb08, apr08) of the wrong configuration corner suite.. i contacted the store again, and was told that i would have to wait another 10 weeks for the re-order... or a refund..

as they have never sent me the correct sofa that i ordered, i have paid in full the amount..

information on the harveys website says...
The Cancellation and Refund policy described above will stand unless:
We have not followed your instructions clearly
The order has been delayed by more than 5 weeks after the lead time quoted to you in writing at the point of order

The product is found to be faulty
Refund in excess of £199 will be made via our Head Office.

so what i read is,
1, they have not followed my instructions/order
2, the order is now over the 5 weeks from lead time(its 9 months +)

we are going to tell them we want a refund, my questions are...
has anybody else had a refund from harveys, how long did it take etc..
and what are my rights as a customer?

thx for any info..
I dont owe nothing, I own everything I have... dont do buy now pay later, dont do credit cards, dont do loans...

  • I too had terrible problems with a sofa from Harveys. However my sofa was delivered...but faulty. They sent someone out to look at it and then denied the man had ever been to my house. After a 12 month period waiting for my replacement sofa I found I was having no luck with the customer service call centre so went back to the shop. They offered me a refund there and then, but I chose to order a new sofa and they gave me about £300 off the purchase price.
I don't think you will have any problems with the refund, but remember those who shout the loudest......

my friend also had problems with harveys and wanted their money back.

Her husband went into the store and made a big fuss in front of customers and they sorted refund straight away.
