Any money I have left over I just set aside for spending money for the next time we go away.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

I hoard the money too, but for countries I'll probably never return to (and for some reasons money from countries to which I've never been
). I have Canadian (never been there), Danish (been there but unlikely to go return any time soon) and several others.
Euros are always worth saving though cos you're bound to return to the Eurozone.0 -
If I am in the Euro Zone, I always go to a cash machine to get some Euros out for my next visit!0

Advertise it on ebay and maybe get £205.00 for 1euro.0 -
Normally euros, so hang on for the next hols (sam e with US dollars, almost as convertible abroad). Several other countries have 'closed currencies', so change back to sterling at the airport.0

Obviously if you have a lot left, you get it changed, but indicates you are a bad MSEr.
A good MSE bod only has a little, the cost of converting it makes it impractical.
And of course one never knows when Mrs Mac will have her next course in Italy/France/Germany or where ever.0 -

Bit of a loaded question really. "A" sounds really negative, and there is no option consciously to decide not to change back so that you do not take a hit on the bid-offer spread.
The answer is of course "It depends" - € and US$ are kept as we use them regularly, while Kenyan shillings were just spent...Jumbo

Similar to others - I voted for leave it lying around the house because it was the closest option. It doesn't go astray though. I save it for the next time I go abroad0
