Yeah, I thought as much, too be honest once the BR is out of the way I just want to start everything with a clean slate (albeit with a ruined credit record) so the thought of trying to claim money back etc would be the last thing on my mind :D

Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.

Hi everyone & thanks for all the feedback :A.

Di, since I started on this mission I had a feeling there might have been a silent part to that sales pitch, your confirmation has fired me up now to stop getting mad & start getting even.

    How's the no smoking going ? I'm on day 5 now :D.

Waspeze, sorry that you've missed your opportunity to reclaim, I shall be even more persistent with you in mind. Well done on the no smoking :D.

Have learnt so much since I've been on this site, had a company call me up to help reclaim the ppi on a no win no fee basis (but if we win we're having 25% thank you) & was going to let them go ahead but advice & knowledge gained here has sure changed my mind.

Still have a lot to learn, but defintely making progress, will keep you posted on my progress

Hi, this post has made me think........I pay £5 insurance each month with my DMP with payplan, exactly the same was said to me that the debts would have to be paid by my next of kin if i died, so I jumped at the chance and £5 of my DMP goes to the insurance. I have no estate so if I died there would be nothing to take from. Should I stop this insurance payment each month? is it a waste of time? would my debts be written off?

    Hi aimmee,

Scary isnt it how we get 'feared' into taking out these policies. I cant give you a definite answer but if you have nothing to leave your kin then i see no reason to pay insurance. I assume it just means that your creditors will still get their money & the thought of that just makes me  .

There must be a way to find out, probably some small print somwhere or try actally asking your debt manager outright & see if they squirm ;).

Gotta go & get my letter printed off now, good luck & let me know what you find out
