    Welcome to the boards Sammy.

I would definitely get rid of the credit card, or at least stop carrying it around with you! My emergency credit card is with my Dad so I've got a backup but it is not one for shopping on!

    Good luck, L x
Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:

    Hi Sue & Lorne,
Thank you for the advice. I should give my cc to my OH but I'm scared he'll cut it up!! I must say that I am a little cheeky. My OH gives me £10 a day for lunch and car parking but the £5 car parking I claim back from expenses at work because I need to have my car close by. But when I get my expenses cheque from work every month, I go straight to the Halifax and pay it onto my credit card account. Before I used to pay it into my bank account, but then I would just spend it. At least now that I pay it straight onto the credit card it makes me feel somewhat better. I'm not sure if my OH has cottoned on to that one yet ;) I think I will definitely hide or give my credit card to someone for safe keeping, or at the very least leave it out of my purse when I'm out. I'm actually now very excited at the thought of being debt free in as little as a year. I just need to keep myself motivated. The guys do a great job of that on here.

I'm on my computer most of the day at work, and don't usually bother in the evenings, but I've spent hours now reading through the forums tonight! I like the competitions threads :) Buy now I must go and get in the bath. I turned the hot water on about 2 hours ago, and that's not going to do my heating bills any good :o
