Online Marketing - is it a con?

I read a lot of articles about how people are making affiliate income on the internet, or selling e-books, such as "make $300 a day from Google adsense" etc.
Now, i believe that people are making money on the internet, but 6-7figs a year seems a tad ambitious.
So my question is, is anyone making good money online by e-marketing, selling e-books etc? or is it all a marketing con?

Personally I am not making any kind of substantial sum, but then I'm not really trying yet

I have, ahem, aquired some of these books without buying them and there is nothing in them that is not in the public domain. There is no magic formula, they're all of the 'find afiiliate programs with high returns with lots of people wanting to buy but not many returns on google' ilk. Kind of like the business programs that say 'invent something new that everyone in the world wants to buy'. Okay then! If only I knew it was that simple!0 -
Thats what i thought. I think the technique is to try niche markets and get many automated websites which can earn you £x a week x lots of website = nice income.
Seems possible in theory, just dont know if it is in reality.0 -

Hi Arfhurdaly,
I make an extremely good living online. Far better than most paid jobs but I've spent 10 years of trying various different things before I found things online I liked and made me good money. I don;t just do one thing but a few things that all bring in income - some instant and some long term.
I'd suggest you join the free internet marketing forum http://www.warriorforum.com
You'll find loads of info there about ways to make money online, how people are making money online and you can ask questions. There's some very well know and extremely successful people on their including the quite a few 7 and 8 figure earners!0 -
I went there. It seemed more of a marketing university than anything else. I think the key to a lot of success is high traffic websites. Which is hard to achieve.0

Depends what system you work. My membership sites make good money off 100 paying subscriber.Arfhurdaly wrote: »I went there. It seemed more of a marketing university than anything else. I think the key to a lot of success is high traffic websites. Which is hard to achieve.
Also there's loads of ways to get traffic - ppc, JV's, articles, free products as well as natural SEO.0 -
What membership sites do you offer? I think if you have a good product it will sell, but not just trying to selling any ebook because its cheap.0

Most of my sites are based on health. They're specific but I'm afraid I'm not going to disclose more than that.0 -
Out of interest Richt71 are you the owner of these sites or an affiliate?0
