unused stamps...

hi everyone,
i've got 8 packs of 12X1 1st class stamps which i have no use for anymore. I was wondering can i return them to the post office for cash ? or buy postal orders with them ?

You can resell them to the Post Office (not over the counter though - you'll have to mail them in) for a 15% fee. You will probably need the original receipt.

You can't buy postal orders with them.

If you have a friendly local post office and know the postmaster /clerk they may take pity on you. Against the rules though.

If your corner shop sells stamps the may take them off you - they'll want a cut though.

But otherwise no - the only use for them is as postage. If you are sending a parcel you could put loads of them on.

Just wait until you have 12 letters to send and attach one stamp to each letter

Save them for Christmas, your friends will think you're rolling in money sending cards 1st class!
