Remortage, living overseas

Our fixed rate mortgage is due for renewal in two months, with Skipton. We currently reside and work in New Zealand, but took the mortgage when we were living and working in the UK. Will we be able to remortgage with another provider or because we are living and working overseas will we have to remain with Skipton?
Thanks

Do you rent out the property in the UK? If so is this done with the approval of Skipton?
Some lenders are happy to lend to ex-pats, but it does all come down to individual circumstances - some will only do it if you work for large multi-national companies0 -

This can be straightforward, with some lenders offering free legal fees and valuations on their re-mortgage deals - did one form someone in Auckland at the beginning of the year.
The mortgage climate has changed quite a bit since then, but you should still be able to find good deals out there, provided your circumstances are not too onerous on lending criteriaI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
