Hi, have been browsing this site for a while and have finally decided to join. Over the past couple of years my debts have got worse, i am 21 and currently owe just under £24000. My oh is 24 and owes £10000. Between us we just about manage. We have a baby due in 2 months and we are simply thinking how the hell are we going to cope.
our debts are:
Lloyds tsb £21,262
Welcome finance £1,300
ge capital £450
ge capital £125
o2 £225
my oh
barclays £2889
sainsburys £6000
overdraft £900
hfc £175.
My monthly outgoings on bills alone are around £650 and my oh is £317. On top of all this we have our rent, c-tax, water ect. The we have the cost of running our car, our phone bills, and our general day to day living. And our childcare on top in 2/3 months.
We really are running out of options, so any help would be very much appreciated.
hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi Phil & Vicky! The experts on here will be glad to help, but they're going to ask for more info... please can you post your full SOA? (there's a guide on how to do it at the start of the board). What they're going to want to know is how your bills break down, what are the interest rates on various debts, what you've got coming in every month- basically everything!! Nosey lot
Once they've got a fuller picture they'll be falling over eachother to help- promise. Stick with the board- you'll get so much support here and you'll find money in all sorts of unexpected places :money:Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines

well firstly welcome and congratulations on you pregnancy and imminnt birth. I'm due in July so have roughly 10 weeks to go myself.
Firstly it would help if we have a full SOA from you you can complete one here them copy and paste it all over and we willall see what if any little savings we can make for you. http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html
Secondly consider what benefits if any you will get once baby arrives. I think you can find that out here http://www.entitled2.co.uk/default.aspx
Thirdly childcare is a scary and expensive prospect but you will only need it once you are both back at work after maternity/paternity leaveMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Hi just to say congratulations and good luck! I'm due on July 16th and i'm trying to pay off as much as I can before the baby is born too.
One thing that's helped me massively is meal planning and coupons. I usually use coupons for 10% of my shopping in ASDA without buying the products.
Have you singed up to pampers/huggies website? Loads of free advice and coupons.
The old style board is good for cheap receipies on here too.
Good luck and post your SOA so we know where your money is going.=lots of advice!
