Advice request: DH is having trouble sleeping and I don't know if it is alergies or stress. I got the badger sleep balm. Can anyone recommned another alternative? We are not big fans of sleeping tablets... TIA
    Have you tried:

Lavender or rosemary oil on the pillow?
A warm (not hot) bath just before bed - bath, dry, bed.
A warm milky drink before bed
Hot toddy before bed (we used a capful of whisky when I was a child, fantastic for breaking a fever!LOL, I'm sure DH will have own Idea, but larger quantities are counter-productive)
Is she getting plenty of exercise & fresh air at the moment?
Gentle massage/backrub (in bed) with rosemary or lavender oils - make sure it's a relaxing one;) :D If it's stress, this will help - concentrate on neck and shoulders
    New mattress/pillows
    Windows slightly open

HTH - It's horrid not being able to sleep - it's why I'm still on here...oh yes, and stay off the internet after 8pm:rotfl:

I once tried one of the herbal tablets - I only took half of one (recommended dose 1-2 tablets) but still felt really peculiar all the next day.

    Congrats KJ1980!:T
My bootsing today was to buy *scratches head at the thought* nit stuff for DD
dam the sleepover she went to on the weekend,

Luckily I got ACM 75 points when spend £10 and used the double points card too so it wasn't as painful on my purse. Didn't get a chance to look at anything else as too many people in the way and only had 10 minutes to get back to work.

But! on the way back I wombled a £5 till spit from the pavement - and then laughed at myself for picking it up when I have 4 already I haven't been able to use! :o

    Never throw away "money" ;)

When I picked up nits from my neice (first time I'd had them - at 37!!!), I used some baby oil I had, massaged it into hair and scalp and used the cat's flea comb (washed) to come my hair over the bath - long curly hair at that. Squashed anything that landed in the bath. I worked on the basis that cat fleas are smaller than nits, so the coumb would work. Definately need the oil or conditioner on to stop it being too painful.

Left the baby oil (I think) with a towel round my head. Washed hair in mornig and slathered it with conditioner, apparently that stops the blighters climbing along the hair. Brushed with cat comb again before rinsing. Put teatree oil on pillows etc. Washed bedding at 60deg. (Or did I do 90deg and that's why one of the fitted sheets has shrunk?!).

Kept up the cat comb + half a bottle of conditioner routine up for a couple of days.

I was lucky and knew exactly when I got them, so as long as I got the eggs, then I was going to be fine. Been clear ever since. Only spotted them coz a pregnant adult crawled on to my ear and I looked in the mirror instead of just scratching. Yuk, I'm itching all over now.....
Next evening used massage oil + tea tree oil instead of bably oil (I'd panicked the night before LOL),

This is quite labour intensive, but if your DD reacts to the heavy duty stuff, it would be worth trying. My mum's gran swore by vinegar to get rid of them...along with a nit comb.

    HTH

poor you ((hugs)). I haven't heard anything about this latest shooting (didn't watch the news today!) DH got caught up in the shooting in Harlesden (horrid part of town!) last week. It's really scary that so many peeps carry guns these days:(

The first shots were 4:50, we were opposite Markham square, where the shooting was. As soon as the first 5 shots were over, a gun wielding police officer checked we were locked in, hiding behind the counters with 2 customers. A couple of mins later we were urgently evacuated, well away, no time to get bags or anything, I had my phone and camera... not even cash or cards, had to scrounge money off manager to get home! We left the scene at 7pm after several interviews and discussions, seeming as we were directly across from the square, the press wanted to know (should be in TheSun tomorrow!), and had to walk 40 mins to the nearest tube station. Cash, cards etc are all still in the open store, police are still there monitering the area, but the gunman fired at them again at 9, police returnt fire, he returnt fire again at 9:30, they returnt, used stun grenades, and he was shot, and annouced dead after the scene, they did try to resusitate him. Aparently was in his late twenties, but while we were locked in the stor for those first few mins, there were police all over the place with guns, when we left, there was around 13 cars, 4 vans, negociators, 2 fire trucks, masses of police, but it was all dealt with quite well, and i'm glad noone was hurt.

Was upset being at fulham boots for the first time... with no cash or cards! Could have cried XD

My local Boots staff were stacking the clearance shelf with all the products from the Boots Basic Range - might be nationwide.
They're probably getting rid of the range or changing packaging or something.
