New Kitchen

Due to flood and insurance work we are replacing the kitchen floor and various other things.
However the builder has now put into the wife's head about a new kitchen.
Having had a look round Wickes, B&Q etc we have seen a couple but very very expensive.
I am totally at a lose as to where to go now. I have only done minimum measurements and worried that what we order won't fit. The kitchen design people at these places seem useless. And it is damn hard to get hold of the builder at the moment until we have sorted the order.
So I am totally lost with a purchase of potentially a good few grand.
Any advice on places to look or measuring up etc would be greatfully appreciated.

I would go back to the builder, tell him which Kitchen you have chosen then get him to do the measuring and ordering0
