    Hi

    Have you read http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/protect/make-money

A lot of it is only small beer, but if you can get a few vouchers for shopping etc, it would help. get OH onto it.

Do you have anything that could go on e-bay, to a car boot sale or on amazon get OH to start sorting stuff.

You should speak to student services at your college or your course tutor and explain the situation you are in. There are quite often funds available for mature students who find themselves in a financial crisis. When does your course finish?
  • I have spoken to uni, nothing they can help with immediately, as I am a part time student plus I work part time, have to go back on Thursday when the advisor has done some more digging.

Nothing to go on eBay that hasn't already gone, other than husband or dog that is.....

When it comes to tax credits and being self employed - are you aware that if you make a loss - you can offset it against other income.

ie from any earnings you get and OH gets from casual work that he was doing, say you earn £10000 between you and the buisness losses amount to £5000, for Tax credit purposes you can declare that your yearly income is £5000.

    Worth looking into.
