most supermarkets are flexible with their hours, you have to decide what hours you can do and present this to them.
Other ideas- working in a cinema, pub, residential or nursing home.I know quite a few people who deliver the weekly local free paper for £25 and you can deliver this at your leisure.
Talking to a work colleague today and her daughter sat as a nude model for 2 hours for an artist £25! Adult education art classes perhaps?!
    Good luck whatever you decide.
  • thanks cariad
i will try all of the above tomorrow
    i appreciate your input

Try the main sorting office (post office) they always have casual's.
they are very flexible and they usualy ring you and ask if your avaible tonight etc at that point you can either say yes or no
    While I breathe.... I hope
  • fab idea

    will do that too
    thanks
  • how about market research interviewing (they always seem to be asking for them round here) mystery shopping etc? delivering catalogues and so on can also be based around your commitments? As already mentioned by another member, delivering the local rag is certainly a good one ( I did that for 3 years and am now trying to get another local round as with Christmas coming up they often pay more for leaflets you deliver etc). also did a little cleaning 'key job' for a couple of nights a week.. it all adds up!
  • What about work from home? There are lots of companies that basically sell you a kit and then off you go - you make your own arrangements. You can sell books, makeup, toiletries, cards, all kind of things. It's not all Avon and tupperware anymore, which is nice. A friend of mine even sells reusable nappies ... perfect if you spend a lot of time with mums of babies!

Hi Brokenwings - A good few years ago now, to make extra cash, I rang around some of the local mailing houses and managed to get taken on by two of them. It was mostly envelope stuffing which you can do at home - I was easily making around £50 per week.

Like I say, it was a while ago now, and I don't know if technology has diminished the need for manual help, but it might be worth a ring a round.

    Good luck

We all make mistakes - that's why they put rubbers on the end of pencils

  • thanks to everyone
    some good ideas there

i am off to tescos later today to see what they have to say and i put my name down at the local sorting office yesterday

fairylights - please dont be offended but as far as some of the work from home businesses go i, personally, have had a bad experience which is in fact a small part of my financial problems now. i became a rep for a make up and skin care company here -one that does parties - sounded great at the start but there is a lot of pressure on you to hit targets and to buy loads of stock - it sounds like its going to help you earn but imho and the experience of myself and many colleagues/friends - it actually leaves you owing more money than you started off with.

im not saying all home biz are like that but people need to be very aware before they buy in - but i do thank you for your input.
