Reading the reviews on Ebuyer it says this plays region 1 and looking at http://www.redstore.com/fx/techinfo.php?itm_code=OEMDVD032&action_code=OEMDVD032 it says it's multi-region so the only thing it's lacking is the USB.

Philips DVP5960 - Divx, USB and multi region. It's £45 from Dixons or ASDA.
Had one for a while now and plays everything I chuck at it. It does upscaling if you ever needed it too. Loads of good reviews on the net about it.
I have loads of AVI files so can fit 5-6 films on to a DVD and they all play well.
However with most DVD USB players, you can't play movies from a USB stick or external hdd UNLESS it has its own power supply. Something to do with the USB port not being able to supply enough power constantly to the USB device (I think.)

Yes you are right .But seeing as it has USB 2 .why not buy yourself a flash drive ..4gig is about £9.00 from play.com ..there is even a £2.00 discount from Sunday mail .
Then just play movies straight from flash ...That's how I have it working .
Seems a waste burning a movie you only watch once ...Just keep the good stuff.

This is wrong ...most flash drives will work ...You are better getting a faster one ,but I have never had any problems .
An external hard drive will need to be plugged into a power supply ...And formatted in FAT 32.

    Globalds,

Firstly I said "most" players but obviously as time moves on this issue can be overcome with firmware updates and new models etc. Also, I have tried USB flash with several players and they would only play music and pictures so the problem is there.
I mentioned the HDD power issue, you have said I was wrong yet make the statement yourself??
At the end of the day most players are not guaranteed to be able to play movies from USB. You have to take it from a review or ask someone else who has tried it.
