I have to say that this thread makes not one jot of sense to me and must be a wind up!!!!!

The point I got lost at was when he said he would have to take out a mortgage with his Sister. Then said his Sis was under 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got 3 siblings, this has been mentioned twice:

"My parents have 4 children, 2 have been to University and now live elsewhere, one is a Uni Student, and the other is under 18 and at college."

"We live with 2 children, one aged under 18, and the other is a Student, our older 2 children have moved out."

But you're quite right, this threads a bit of a mess. Especially the whole section where people decided to discuss how we could've got into such a mess, and how uncourageous it was of me to try and think of a way of getting out of it cheaply, and then later, the whole immorality side discussion, which in my view is rather irrelevant, and covered by this sentence I think

"by golly, if we can hold onto the family home and screw the creditors, without legal repercussions, then that's exactly what we're going to do, sod morals, pride etc."

and then there was some side debate about whether we'd lived the high life, that sort of thing, and also people accusing me of attempting to profit from the whole situation, where TBH, if I were to propose on the house buying board that someone had offered me the deeds to their house, for 1/2 its value, with a risk of having to repay some of the value of the property at a later date, and being unable to sell/rent the property, just hold on to it for the sake of long-term rising property prices, they'd likely tell me I was making a very bad investment, and would be unlikely to profit.

Oh, and then people decided to start talking about whether I was indeed, a fictious, existential quandry, or perhaps an idiot, born to Methuselah.

Still, you have all been genuinely helpful, in your own way; and in any case, it's good to bounce my ideas off someone, and let people poke holes in them - constructive criticism, and suggestions of how to avoid any foreseeable problems, is all I'm looking for.

Please, can we get back on-topic? I've presented the facts, ask away for more details; details that it would be useful for me to know aswell as you I'm sure, but can we stop all the tangents.
