My debt adviser was at Payplan and very good. He was always rather reluctant to advise an IVA for me, not just because he thought that BR would be best but he was personally thought they were very bad things. He opinion was that they are more expensive in terms of the monthly payments but also your credit rating is shot anyway similar to BR. Many people can't cope with the IVA payments and end up being forced into bankruptcy. It might be a good idea to have a good hard think about how you think the next five years might pan out for you financially. At the end of this year ( I think), bankruptices will no longer be put in the local papers.

I did. It failed, and I'm going BR soon, but not through any fault of theirs. They did push the IVA harder than bankruptcy when really, since I had no assets, it wouldn't have made much difference which option I chose - but then I did say to them I wanted to avoid having my name in the paper with BR.There are always high charges associated with IVAs and theirs are no exception, but they were helpful and offered useful advice even after the IVA failed.0
