Yes I have and they are very very good. From what I hear much more on the side of the individual than most of the IVA ripoff merchants out there who just care about their cut. Woudl recommend them greatly. Suggest you go to http://www.debtquestions.co.uk/debt_forum/viewforum.php?f=4&sid=b684826223c30870d767859696ac23ea which is a forum full of people with loads of experience of running and managing IVAs.

    Hi Skibadee

I'm on a DMP with Payplan, although at present I'm going through an IVA application.

Prior to completing my IVA application, I carried out extensive research both on this board, and externally as to which of the best debt management charities would be best for me, without doubt CCCS came out on top, there have been numerous hit and miss comments on this board alone regarding Payplan's “Care” policy once an IVA is up and running, as I say, CCCS came out on top for their “After Care” policy during the life span of the IVA.

No disrespect to Payplan, as I say, I'm on a DMP with them, their “Customer Care” setting up and running one's DMP is excellent, it's their “After Care” police during an IVA that concerned me.

Based on the information I obtained, I applied through CCCS for my IVA.

I may be out of date now but when I entered by IVA CCCS did not do IVAs. They simply recommended external companies to go with. Has this changed?

It's always going to be swings and roundabouts but for me the initial application process was the struggle with the process not being as quick and slick as it coudl have been. The team who have looked after me through the 1st half of my term have been excellent and very supportive even allowing me to postpone several payments with no bother due to some unexpected outgoings. I really dont think I could rate them any higher than I do.

    Yes. It has changed.

    April 13th 2007

Britain's first charitably owned provider of IVAs (Individual Voluntary Arrangements) will start operations on Monday April 16.

CCCS Voluntary Arrangements (CCCSVA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Foundation for Credit Counselling, which runs the Consumer Credit Counselling Service. It will covenant its profits to the Foundation.

It aims to provide an efficient and compassionate service to people who are suited to an IVA; to improve transparency and returns to lenders; and to influence the marketplace for the good.

CCCSVA will serve the percentage of CCCS counselling clients for whom an IVA is one of the best solutions. This year CCCS expects to carry out 150,000 counselling sessions.

The news of the entry of CCCSVA with lower prices and higher transparency has already begun to affect the marketplace which has been controversial in recent months because of heavy and sometimes misleading advertising, high prices and obscure practices.

CCCSVA is based in Leeds, yards away from the headquarters of the Foundation for Credit Counselling. As its staff builds up it will help an increasing number of people whom IVAs can help.

That's OK James, each to their own, Skidabee asked for opinions and we gave ours, it's for the OP to do their research and choose which organisation they feel comfortable with.
