Bleached Teabags - are they safe?

I picked up a box of organic herbal tea in the supermarket today and it said 'unbleached teabags'.
I was wondering if all other teabags are bleached, and if so is this safe for health?
Has any research been done into this?
Seems like everything we use has some dangerous chemicals....
