ask them what thier very best deal is then shop around other shops and the likes, maybe have some internet prices at hand and say you would rather buy with them, is there anything they could do to sweeten the deal, like beat the price or give a few extra's etc, maybe with the headphones buy something else and haggle the headphones as a freebie with say a cd or something as you would like some headphones as your neighbours always complaining at the volume or something.0

oh and be freindly have a little chat wiht them first ask thier name etc, and be cheeky with saying how much you want to pay then ask what thier best deal they could offer is, and be happy for them to wait and check with managers and stock buying prices etc.0

are these in the same shop? no harm in asking if they do a discount for buying the two together.. smaller shops may have more success.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hope you did well - always remember that the worst thing they can do when you try haggling is say no, and it always best to be prepared to walk away! In some countries walking away alone brings them scrabbling after you and a big discount, and it even works here sometimes! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

flyp you do amuse me with your silly posts my favourite one is when you asked the post office for free stamps and thought it was rude when they said no!have you complained yet?lol0
