I've got a bag of organic desiree potatoes that were "whoopsied" down to 30p!! I don't use a lot of potatoes but don't want to waste them.
Can I just cut them up, toss them in oil chilli etc and freeze them raw as wedges or do they need cooking first?
Thanks in advance

Are frozen chips raw or partly cooked?
I did too many chips last night - I'd part-fried them - so I just lay them on a baking sheet and froze them, then this morning put them in a bag so I can use them as oven chips in the future. Because they were oily they didn't stick together. Raw ones might do because they are 'wet'.
I know someone else freezes potatoes for roasting, but parboils them first.
I'm sure someone else will be able to help you.0 -
Hey,
I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but my understanding was you can't really freeze raw spud cos it goes black.
Just quickly flicking through proprietary frozen potato products I can't think of any which are raw.
Maybe best to cook first?
Mash freezes well, if you use that with any frequency. And you can freeze spud when its been blanched for a bit
Hope that helps...
