Hi, I owe money on c/cs and loans, which has been passed onto a collection agency.
I've just got a letter from them, saying they are holding a package, (parcel/packet/letter) for me.
Is this some backhand way of contacting me/calling round in person?

Is this like when the police contact criminals to tell them they've won a free speedboat?
I wouldn't trust em as far as I could throw em!

Yes!
Contact 'only' by letter and keep them all as reference.
ask them for the copy of the original signed agreement first!

Why would take be holding a package for you. I assume you have not set a redirection through to them. Myself I get the impression they are just trying it on.
