Writing to the creditors: What do I say or ask for?

Hi All,
Any thoughts as to how I should structure a letter to my creditors and what I should ask for?
I am thinking of putting in our income and how much there is left for the creditors and how much I am prepared to pay every month.
Is this okay?

Hi there - welcome to the forum.
Here is a letter I drafted to my creditors a couple of weeks ago. I tried to keep it simple, yet friendly. So far, only Tesco has come back to me and their reply has also been in a very friendly manner offering to assist me, as long as I keep in touch with them.
Here goes:-
To whom it may concern
Account Number ..................................
It is with much regret that I have to inform you I am unable to continue to make my regular, minimum payments to you due to a change in circumstances. I have taken advice from the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) in this matter.
I am therefore enclosing a Postal Order to the value of £1.00 as a token gesture towards my indebtedness with you. As soon as I am better placed, I will contact you again with regard to future payments.
I am very sorry about this course of action, but at the present time, I can offer no more.
Yours faithfully
TMD
I then went to the post office to purchase p/os and attached them to it.
Obviously you will have to re-jig it to fit your circumstances, but I hope it gives you a start point.
hope this helps
