Cheapest place for alcohol

Morning fellow money savers! :)

I'm throwing a birthday/housewarming bash in a few weeks time and as a poor impoverished student I'd like to do it as economically as possible.

I've asked my guests to bring their own alcohol but want to lay on a little, maybe in the form of cocktails, to get the party moving.

I'd appreciate recommendations for cheap places to buy spirits and mixers. Are the supermarkets the cheapest places to shop or are there cheaper alternatives?

Thanks in advance.

I've heard (on other MSE forum boards) that Tesco are doing lots of great deals on alcohol.

    Good luck!

  • Check out Home Bargains if you have one - very reasonable, as are B&M :)
  • Dustbin & a beer kit.
Takes a week to ferment and 1-2 weeks for the yeast to settle first to the bottom of the
dustbin and then to the bottom of the bottles.

You will need "fizz" tight bottles. QED

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Mary_H, unfortunatly I'm not a big fan of beer (or the smell it makes whilst brewing). However, you have just reminded me how much I enjoyed the hedgerow vodka I made last year. Cheers!

iceland & netto do great deals. I believe they both do large bottles of an apple sourz type drink for £3 each, and iceland also has 4 sidekicks for £2!!
