This is my first post so I'll start by saying hello everyone first, Hello:hello: So i got my payslip this month and my tax code has changed from 522L to 543L which i understand is normal, but should i have been taxed and extra £42 over last month? Other than getting a better salary ... bit unsure of the relevance of that ... all employers operate the same PAYE system!;)

On £25k you should be paying around £325 tax per month ..... and that should be less than last year. If the comparison with Month 12 shows you're paying more then, as Jem says, you're comparing apples and pears .... as there's a reason your Month 12 tax was out of perspective.

If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
