in Cutting tax
A quick question please.
I've underpaid tax (non-declaration of some small income) and have to pay £2818 plus £527 interest. HMRC now suggest a penalty of 15% on top.
If I were to offer below the 15%, are HMRC then allowed to increase their proposed penalty or as they've already offered 15%, will that be the maximum they can ask for?

Apparently, if you lose one sense, others senses are enhanced. That's why those who have no sense of humour have an enlarged sense of self-importance.

No, they are ready to settle - this penalty seems quite low, so it wouldn't hurt you to offer 10%.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
