"Buying" with Advantage card points

Hope someone knows the answer to this: If you buy something with points, and then return it, do they refund in cash or Advantage points?
I've been saving up for a camera - now have about £80 on the card - but I've seen one on ebuyer I really, really want. I was wondering if I could "cash" the points by buying and returning?
Mel.

Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.

If you return it with receipt they will credit your advantage card back. If you return it without the receipt i think they will just give you a credit note.
Hope that helps0 -
That's a shame - I guess the only other way is to buy vouchers with the points and sell them on eBay.
Thanks!

its likely you will get your refund on a boots gift card...least you can earn more points with the credit on a gift card...if you return with out a reciept you can only exchange for goods in store on that day only...they will not issue a credit note with no proof of purchase...unless its a boots inclusive item then its obvious that its purchased in boots so I would insist on a gift card. i purchased a fuji digital camera with 7999 points and although its a great camera, i would be tempted to return it and upgrade when i collect more points on my card.
not allowed to buy vouchers with the points unless your lucky and get a dippy assistant or someone new.0 -
Hmm - a gift card sounds okay as I could probably sell it on - I can't afford the ebuyer camera without getting at some of the "cash" sitting on the Advantage card!
Thanks, all -

apparently boots have changed their refund policy, in that if you don't have a receipt or whatever, they are tending not to put it on a gift card and asking you to do a straight exchange.
this is what the SA at Boots told me about 2 weeks ago, but this was for a couple of hair products, so it may be different for something as expensive as a camera?0 -
i returned something bought with points last week and they refunded the points back on to my card. if you return it wthout a receipt they would make you exchange it for something else.
one way of getting money for your points would be if your boots have those intuition razors with the £3 vouchers. my boots had them half price again last week so a spend of £3.16 in points (i think) would give you a £3 voucher to use off the cost of your shopping in asda. my asda will take ten percent of the shopping so on a £60 spend i can use 2 of those vouchers, my tesco will only take one voucher, up to a total of ten percent discount. if you could do that you could get back almost the amount in points as money off your shopping but unless your supermarket has a generous voucher policy it will take you a few weeks to offload the vouchers.52% tight0
